Amino Rice is produced by Fukumitsuya Sake Brewery, an Artisan sake maker with 400 years of history, founded in 1625.With the highest level of craftsmanship and traditional family secret recipe, the brewery has enjoyed a reputation as one of the finest sake breweries in the area.

Fukumitsuya studied about Sake's effects on skin scientifically and found out that Sake itself is containing amino acid and many other minerals which are very effective for skin aid. Since then, Fukumitsuya focused on the beneficial elements of Sake which make skin supple and moist, and finally developed “FRS (Fermented Rice Solution)”

FRS is the unique product of Fukumitsuya‘s rice fermentation process, using only premium sake rice and mineral water. Since 1960, Fukumitsuya has cooperated with sake-rice farmers to produce great sake rice to brew their sakes. Under strict quality control, Yamada Nishiki, the highest quality sake rice available today, is produced in Hyogo, Kimmon Nishiki in Nagano, Gohyakumangoku in Toyama and Fukunohana in Hyogo.

Only limited quantities of Amino Rice skin care products are produced each year due to the scarcity of the Premium Sake Rice that they are using for fermentation process.

Hyakunensui (one-hundred-year-old water in English) is used to brew Fukumitsuya’s sakes.The water begins as rain and snow falling at the foot of the Mt. Hakusan. This water spent at least 100 years slowly filtering through deep underground, then reaches the well of their brewery, blessed with minerals that are necessary for fermentation.
